Liverpool star Roberto Firmino has become the latest footballer to be targeted by burglars , it emerged last night.

The Brazilian winger’s home was reportedly raided by a hooded gang who stole jewellery, watches and clothes worth £70,000.

Thieves are thought to have spent days watching the 25-year-old’s house, in a leafy Liverpool suburb, according to The Sun.

The crooks were reportedly disturbed on a previous attempted burglary, but returned once the star and his family had left the property.

Police are probing the burglary but have yet to trace any suspects or recover any of the stolen items.

One of the suspects is believed to have been wearing a blue Puffa jacket.

Merseyside Police Det Insp Steve Christian told The Sun: “While the occupiers were not in at the time, it has clearly been very upsetting to find their home has been targeted in this way."

A gang of balaclava-wearing thugs tried to raid Wayne Rooney ‘s £6million mansion in August – while he was playing in his own testimonial.

Police rushed to the star’s huge Cheshire abode – which was empty at the time – after the burglars set off the top-of-the-range alarm system .

In September 2015, the home of Everton and Belgium striker Romelu Lukaku was raided by burglars while he played in a crucial Euro 2016 qualifier.

Gareth Tomlinson, 29, ransacked the luxury pad in Cheshire and tried to tear a projector from a cinema room before fleeing in the football star’s car with a £500 TV and two game consoles worth £800.

He later returned with the car which had been fitted with a tracking device.

Last month, thieves burgled the home of footballer Carlos Tevez – while he was getting married.

The Argentine, currently playing for Boca Juniors, was in neighbouring Uruguay marrying his childhood sweatheart Vanesa Mansilla.

Burglars entered Tevez’s house on the outskirts of Buenos Aires.

Police said Tevez, 32, did not report the burglary and therefore little is known about what was taken.
